February Online Crop at the Scrappy Gifts Community Created By Maryanne @Scrappy Gifts

Scrappy Gifts ONLINE CROP - February

I always look so forward to participating in Maryanne's Monthly Online Crop.  Thank you so much Maryanne for all the time and thought you put into these.  You are truly a blessing.

The crop for February is in full swing.  Many of the challenges have been completed by guests, and oh what fun I am having viewing everyone's creations.  If you are interested in joining in, you have until Tuesday, February 22, to complete the challenges.  Great prize giveaways and new friend connects.  The games are addictive and the laughter is contagious [even if you don't actually here the laughter...LOL  "O)]
You can join by clicking this link and entering your "Attendance"  http://theblogfrog.com/935825/forum/80941/february-2011-online-crop---roll-call.html

Here are some of the things I completed so far.....

My 2 page scraplift layout...

Friday's Challenge: Check out Crop Participants' Blogs and get inspired for your creation. Make a layout, card or altered item using colors, a project, theme, etc. from a Crop Participant's Blog. Let us know whose blog you decide to use for inspiration.

I was inspired by Amber Life, Love, Green www.lifelovegreen.com  to work on an altered frame.   Her "Old Key Wall Art" was gorgeous!!!   http://www.theiheartblog.com/2010/09/old-key-wall-art/

I had just recently purchased some rustic star accents, an old picture frame, and had a few lonely old yard flags laying around.   I am using a cardboard cutout for the base, patterned paper, and ribbon as well.   Curious to see my final project.
Thanks Amber!!!  :O)

OK, so as I am finishing my "altered frame", when it dawns on me that I am not working with a shadow box, therefore, it won't fit back in the frame, duh!  So, I came up with an idea for a two-sided wall decor.  One side is dedicated to Stars, Stripes, and Freedom.  The other is a Home Sweet Home picture.  It would have been nice to frame it, and maybe that will still happen, but this is what I was able to complete for now.

Saturday's Challenge: Using the Fave Words List, choose 2 words (not your own) and create something: layouts, cards, altered items that incorporate those 2 words. The words must be visible to us. You can do a double layout or 2 cards if that helps you.

I finished my Saturday challenge before my Friday challenge.  My two words were Diva and Butterfly.

I made a birthday card for one of my closest friends.

I also completed a 2 page layout using Butterfly Kisses as the theme.

Brrrr

Well, the storm is here and it seems to want to stay for a while.  I enjoyed getting to do some painting this week.  I forgot how relaxing it is to paint with delicate lines and brush strokes that test the stability of my hand.  Most of all, I was able to finish a painting that means so much to me and Lance.  Almost 5 years ago, right after we met, we had an enjoyable stroll at the beach.  The sun was shining down upon us and we searched for heart-shaped rocks along the water.  As we strolled, the sun's rays across the water seemed as though they were following our every footstep.  We shared a glimpse into each others' eyes and both felt the love that was surging through every inch of our beings.  That moment meant a lot to us and we talk about it often.  I finally presented it to Lance last night and he smiled and we shared a compassionate hug.  I love him so much and only wish that everyone has the chance to experience true love in its simplest form.
Happy St. Valentine's Day to you all!
