Now onto my DT Project!
Besides playing with my Favorite Crinkle Ribbon ever...
I also wanted to inspire my Blends
to link up the fun challenges
happening right here at
Jessica's Craft Shaque.
The Red, White, and Blue challenge
will end on July 3rd at Midnight EST.
On July 4th, everyone who entered will be showcased
and Voting will begin.
If you feel inspired to join in the fun, I would be honored to have you link up!
Check out this POST for all the fun details and prize information.

I started my project with some Teal, White, and Red
 Recollections Card Stock.
I also used some die cut circles from a set I have had for years.
This is supposed to inspire you to join another
Craft Shaque challenge
to use something old in your stash (hint, hint).

The tag was a free gift I received several months ago
from Unity Stamp Co. for being a Kit of the Month Member.
(another reason to love Unity....surprises around every corner)

I wanted to follow the sketch from the June
Unity Stamp Co. KOM Sketch Challenge
Isn't that a delightful sketch?

All of the stamps that I used were from the
June 2012 KOM {sweet summer love}
(I used the large Strawberry, the vine of Strawberries, and the Star)
I used 3 Girl JAM Crinkle Ribbon from the
June Bundle-Red, White, and Blue
(12 yards total - available now for $5.99)
To create the fun bottle cap embellishment, I used
a bottle cap purchased from Erica's Craft Room I cut a circle
using my Lacy Labels Cricut Cartridge at 1"
then stamped and embossed the star on it.
I then adhered it to my bottle cap and
covered it with Glossy Accents.
The outer part of the bottle cap was white
and fit well with the rest
of my card, so I didn't do anything additional to it.
I also used my ek Success punch to create the top and bottom border on my rectangle.
Some inking with: TH Distress Ink Barn Door, VersaMagic Cloud White
and Studio G Navy Blue

Heat embossing with: Whispers Opaque and Denim Blue powders.
The tie dye effect on the tag was created by
usingTH Adirondack Alcohol Inks in Stream (Blue) and Watermelon (Red).

☺ ☺ ☺ ☺ ☺ ☺

Heather and I have became close friends after meeting in
a group of Facebook called Ohio Scrappers.
She actually visited me yesterday with her kids
making the total kid count 12!!!
We survived without any major scrapes and bruises...LOL

Heather and I have often talked about
getting together to do some mixed
media work, but this is a messy venture.

With 12 kids during the visit yesterday
(I have my niece and nephew right now),
or even just the regular 10 of OUR combined children,
that is really not a good idea to get
all the mixed media supplies out and start.

So, knowing that this is something we
both share in interest in,
I decided to finish a mixed media canvas
as a gift to Heather for her 1st Blog Hop!

I sure hope she likes the finished piece.
Supplies :
8x10 canvas; acrylic paints; alcohol inks; glitter glue; scrap paper.
The charms, bead (nose), flowers, trim, and buttons(eyes) are all from stash
For the feathers on the body, I used my Pink By Designs-Small Hexagons stamp
on purple and pink scrap paper.
I then embossed all the purple ones with white embossing powder.
After fussy cutting, I placed them on the canvas, alternating the colors.
The soft face and legs of my owl were created
by using my exacto knife to shred white Rik-Rak trim a
nd adhering it in place.
I also used some Unity Stamps from the
May KOM - LOVE in an INSTANT (cloud),
April KOM - FOLLOW your own (sentiment)
and the background stamp
Up Against A Wall by Marah Johnson.

☺ ☺ ☺ ☺ ☺ ☺
Now you will HOP over to the Wonderful, Julie K of 3 Girl JAM
☺ ☺ ☺ ☺ ☺ ☺
Here is the HOP Lineup in case you get lost along the way

☺ ☺ ☺ ☺ ☺ ☺
I am linking my project up to
Unity Friends with Flair Friday

Hello Crafty Blends!

As promised, since the Shaque has reached (and surpassed) 450 followers,
I am going to start the project challenge
to earn 5 extra entries
(per project you make)
for the current *500* Followers Giveaway here at The Shaque!!!

To learn all about other ways to earn entries,
be sure to visitTHIS POST for all the updates!
Now, for the  Crafty Project Challenge,
I asked for some fun suggestions on what the challenge should be ? ? ? ?

The 1st suggestion that came in was from Noelle
SUGGESTION:
The BFF and I always have fun trying to use old stuff. I tell her you have to use a stencil and she whips out a beautiful title cut out in extra scenery pics or something! I used a Coluzzle instead of the Cricut LOL etc.
Use anything with dust on it! LOL
(Due Date - upon reaching 500 followers at The Shaque)

The 2nd suggestion that came in was from Heather Lynn
SUGGESTION:
The 23rd of June is National Pink Day. . .
How bout we make something with lots of pink?!
(Due Date - upon reaching 500 followers at The Shaque)

The 3rd suggestion to come in was from Kenzie Char Pearce
SUGGESTION:
July 4th being a special holiday in America, u could do something surrounding that and all cards to be in by July 3rd ready for a big card party on the 4th,
showcasing all the cards and people could vote for there favorites.
(Due Date: July 3rd, midnight EST )

I think these suggestions are great, so pick which one, two, or all 3...
and get to making something fun to share and gain
those 5 extra entries for each project.
There is no limit to how many you are allowed to make
but they must be a new project
for this challenge !!!
You may also link up to other challenges if you wish to do so!

If you choose the 3rd suggestion challenge, and
you post your project before the July 3rd deadline,
On July 4th, I will post a
showcase of all cards that have been submitted
and everyone can vote for their favorite!
The winner will get a fabulous blinky to put on their blog,
an extra 5 entry points for being the chosen winner,
AND I will throw in a little surprise goody as well.

***THIS JUST IN***
My ever so sweet Blend, Noelle of Noelle Scraps A Lot,
has offered to sponsor
a 2nd Place Prize to the July 4th Challenge.
The person with the 2nd most votes
during the Showcase Voting
will be awarded an opportunity
to pick any {ippity} itty bitty that she
has in stock!
Noelle will be sure to get me a current stock list so the winner can pick
when the winners are chosen!!!

I will keep all three challenges open until the

I am ecstatic to bring you a new monthly series here at my blog!!!
On the 13th of each month, I will be inviting a Guest to SHOWCASE!
There will be a series of 13 questions that they will answer in hopes to make new connections
across Cyber Space and Blog Land
as well as teach you a few fun facts about themselves
that you may not know.
For my first guest, I am honored to have the Sweet and Talented, Heather Lynn!

Please join me in Welcoming Heather and leaving her some love!!!
1. What’s your name?
Heather Lynn, HL, Mommy..lol

2. What is the name and link of your blog?  How long have you been blogging?
Random Recipes, Paper Crafts, and Photos by HL
http://heathernovinger.blogspot.com,
and I started my blog I think in 2010 but I hardly posted anything until this year.

3. What is your favorite craft to work with (type, technique, style)?
I like crafts of all kinds but my favorite is scrapbooking. I love mini albums! I think my style is all over the place.. Love to try new things!!

4. Do you have other hobbies?
I love to cook, bake, and photography.

5. How did you get started in the Craft World?
I started scrapbooking after I had my twins in 2003. My brother had given me some money for my birthday and told me I had to spend it on ME. So I went into Michael's and walked around for a while and came across a scrapbook kit, bought it, took it home, and got started.
One of the best decisions I have ever made! ;)

6. Where are you from?
Lebanon, Missouri but now I live in between Cleveland and Akron, Ohio

7. If you could give a tip to a new crafter/blogger, what would it be?
New at crafts or blogging? Just jump right in! You can make wonderful friends and the inspiration is limitless!!

8. Name some things that you have learned this year, that you are glad you learned?
Hot glue works best for rolled flowers, how to use a scoreboard to make rosettes, not to let your kids eat rings and meatballs in the living room on light colored carpet..lol  And that the crafting/blogging community is full of  fun, talented, and giving people!

9. Do you have anything personal you wish to share with the readers?
I am a mom of 5 beautiful children so I don't have time to come by and visit all of my favorite blogs every day but I will come by every chance I get! I enjoy seeing everyone's projects and getting ideas for my own. :)

10. What are your future ambitions?
I would LOVE to teach scrapbooking/card/Cricut classes..I love teaching people tips and tricks I have learned.

11. What challenges have you faced, but conquered in crafting?
Time...finding time to craft can be tough with children, including a baby. So sometimes I have to let the house go a little so I can get my crafty time in.

12.  When told you would be interviewed for this Guest Post, what question were you hoping to be asked?
What is my favorite embellishments to use on my projects?

13.  What answer would you give to the unasked question?

3 Girl JAM - Grow with Courage

Hello to all of my Sweet Blends!

Today I get to share with you
how fun it is to play with
the Wonderful Twine
This twine is so sturdy and worked
out great for the idea I had in mind.

I had been wanting to try a few new things
with my stamping techniques and needed
a handmade flower
to really highlight
my card!

So I simply took
my 1/2 inch Pop Up Glue Dots
and started creating loops with
the Sunshine Yellow
to look like a flower.
When I had the placement right,
I pressed down firmly to be sure it was
held together well, then added a button
and the flower brad
to the center using a little hot glue.
I also used the Cotton Candy Pink
to create the criss-cross pattern
you see on the "flower box"!

If you want to pick up some of this
wonderful twine,
head over to the 3 Girl JAM shop

And while you are there, don't forget to grab
